ASUS EEE PC 901

Review of the ASUS EEE PC 901 netbook

ASUS EEE 901 netbookThe original ASUS EEE PC 701 was one of the first netbooks to hit the market. Then came the EEE 900, and now we've got the 901.

Featuring the Intel Atom N270 1.6ghz processor, 1gb ram and either 12/20gb ultra fast SSD storage, the 901 is a small light and speedy little netbook.

The Linux version uses the Landros operating system, which is very good - it comes bundled with all the basic programs as well as others such as a full office suite. Linux also makes it so much easier to install programs over the web, ideal for a netbook with no CD-Drive.

The 901 comes with an enormous 6600mAh battery – even with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth switched on it lasts for well over five hour - brilliant for trips away from home wher you dont have access to a mains socket.

The keyboard is small, but is quite reponsive when typing. It has a decent sized multi-touch tackpad, much better than the one on the Acer Aspire One.

With the Asus 901 EEE PC, you get easy access to a 20gb secure online web storage site. Its just like a hard drive for ease of use, but its online and doesnt take up your valuable SSD drive.

The 901 is a lovely little netbook. It comes in a variety of colours and, at the prices you can currently buy it from dabs.com (see below) its a decent buy for a quality laptop.
