Review of the Samsung NC10 netbook

Samsung NC10 netbookYou'd be forgiven for thinking the Samsung NC10 netbook is another MSI Wind a-like, like the Advent 4211 or Medion Akoya. It isnt. Its very very similar to it, but better.

Its a brilliant netbook - a great rugged feel, lovely 10" screen and, best of all, an amazing 5 to 6 hour battery life.

The netbook standard Intel Atom N270 processor and 1024MB of memory and the 160GB hard drive is nothing to shout about. It comes with Windows XP as standard and we understand that Samsung currently has no plans to release a Linux version. Which is a shame, becuase we always think they are better, even as usual Windows users.

The keyboard is a joy to use and, to be honest, you forget that its not full size.

The 10.2" screen uses backlight LED technology, which makes for a brilliant high quality screen.

Features are the usual, comprising of three USB ports - one on the right hand side, two on the left - VGA-out, Ethernet port, mic and headphone jacks. Icons down either side of the keyboard are a nice touch, so you don't need to pick the machine up to locate the USB port.

The Samsung NC10 has a retail price of £299, but you can get it for about £280 if you look hard enough. A great price for a 10" quality laptop.

In conclusion, we think the Samsung NC10 netbook is a great addition to the netbook range of computers and well worth your contemplation.
