The Samsung NS310 is the updated and redesigned model based upon the original Samsung N310. The technology is smarter and the appearance is sleeker.

The NS310 case is slightly curved giving it a distinct appearance which stands out amongst other netbooks and it available in a number of cool colours. The lid is agleam which looks fabulous on an untouched retail display but it tends to pick up fingerprint smudges very easily - if you're slightly OCD like me this might mean you spend a lot of time wiping your Ns310 lid. Like all Samsung screens the NS310 has a matte screen which means it doesn't reflect sunlight making it clear and visible in a multitude of situations. It is ideal for viewing media and it plays 720p HD movies with ease thanks to the dual core processor and at 300 nits the screen brightness is highly superior.
The netbook shell is slightly wider than most but it is still extremely light at just 2.9lbs and it holds battery for up to 12 hours. Netbooks aren't designed for heavy content creation such as graphic design or video editing but the NS310 is ideal for everyday tasks like using MS Office, browsing the web, viewing video, playing audio etc.
This netbook model is slightly more expensive than its competitors but it does have great technology; a more than adequate 250gb hard drive and it looks incredibly chic. The NS310 is certainly a viable choice in its category.

Sit tight Ann, Samsung are scheduled to release the Ns310 very soon – early 2011 – so probably February. However if you can’t wait Dell have some competative models which are currently available at many UK stores including John Lewis
