Samsung NC20 Netbook now available

You can finally get your hands on Samsung's second-generation netbook, the NC20. The notable features here are the 1.3Ghz Via Nano processor, rather than the usual Intel Atom netbook processor and a slightly larger 12-inch screen - its less of a netbook more of a mini laptop if you ask us.

Aside from that, there's the usual set of features you can chant like a mantra - 1GB of memory, 160GB hard disk, Windows XP Home operating system, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 1.3 megapixel webcam and a card reader.

The initial machine will be available in white only from February 9th via DABS.com, with a black version following in March. Both sell for Â£390.98. A HSDPA-equipped netbook will also follow, priced at Â£416.63

Samsung NC10 Netbook announced

Samsung has officially announced its entry into the netbook market with the launch of the Samsung NC10 netbook.

Samsung describes its new offering as "small, light and incredibly functional, the netbook NC10 is a stylish alternative to existing products in the space".

The Netbook will come in a choice of colours - white, piano black and metallic blue.

A 10.2-inch offering, the WSVGA LED display has a resolution of 1024 x 600, the NC10 netbook weighs in at 1.33kg with a 6 cell battery (that claims up to 8 hours juice) and boasts a "normal-size, ergonomic" notebook PC style keyboard.

With an Intel Atom processor, the samsung netbook will disappointedly only offer Microsoft Windows XP Home and either an 80GB or 160GB hard disk drive. No SSD appears to be on offer.

The NC10 offers 802.11b/g wireless LAN, 10/100 Ethernet LAN and optional Bluetooth 2.0+EDR.

Others specs include webcam, 3-in-1 multi-memory card reader, a VGA connection, mic in, headphone out and three USB ports.

The Samsung NC10 will launch in October 2008 with a selling price quoted as "up to" Â£329.
